Network-wide ad blocking that works as a DNS sinkhole for your whole network.

This page describes the Levelrail template for Pi-hole (Infrastructure). It deploys the services below as one Docker Compose app on your own server. Project site: [https://docs.pi-hole.net](https://docs.pi-hole.net).

Recommended memory: about 256 MiB.

## Services, ports and volumes

| Service | Image | Container ports | Volumes |
| - | - | - | - |
| `pihole` | `pihole/pihole:2024.07.0` | 80 | `pihole_data -> /etc/pihole` |

## Environment variables

| Service | Variable | Value |
| - | - | - |
| `pihole` | `FTLCONF_webserver_api_password` | Generated at deploy |

Passwords and keys marked as generated are created for you when the app is deployed and stored as secrets. Values are not shown here.

## Deploy Pi-hole with Levelrail

In the dashboard, open **Apps**, choose **New app**, then **Browse templates**, and select Pi-hole. Review the Compose body and deploy.

With the CLI:

```bash theme={"dark"}
levelrail-cli templates deploy pi-hole --name my-pi-hole
```

See the [service template catalog](/templates-and-registry) for how templates work, and [Getting started](/getting-started) if you have not installed Levelrail yet.
