> Fast, incremental, encrypted backups to a repository, driven from a web UI instead of a cron script.

Fast, incremental, encrypted backups to a repository, driven from a web UI instead of a cron script.

This page describes the Levelrail template for Kopia (Storage). It deploys the services below as one Docker Compose app on your own server. Project site: [https://kopia.io/docs/installation/#quick-setup-using-docker](https://kopia.io/docs/installation/#quick-setup-using-docker).

Recommended memory: about 512 MiB.

## Services, ports and volumes

| Service | Image | Container ports | Volumes |
| - | - | - | - |
| `kopia` | `kopia/kopia:0.19.0` | 51515 | `kopia_repository -&#62; /app/repository`<br />`kopia_config -&#62; /app/config`<br />`kopia_cache -&#62; /app/cache`<br />`kopia_logs -&#62; /app/logs` |

## Environment variables

| Service | Variable | Value |
| - | - | - |
| `kopia` | `KOPIA_PASSWORD` | Generated at deploy |
| `kopia` | `KOPIA_SERVER_PASSWORD` | Generated at deploy |
| `kopia` | `KOPIA_SERVER_USERNAME` | Preset in the template |

Passwords and keys marked as generated are created for you when the app is deployed and stored as secrets. Values are not shown here.

## Deploy Kopia with Levelrail

In the dashboard, open **Apps**, choose **New app**, then **Browse templates**, and select Kopia. Review the Compose body and deploy.

With the CLI:

```bash theme={"dark"}
levelrail-cli templates deploy kopia --name my-kopia
```

See the [service template catalog](/templates-and-registry) for how templates work, and [Getting started](/getting-started) if you have not installed Levelrail yet.
