# Self-host Heimdall with Docker

> An application dashboard that gathers links to all your self-hosted services on one start page.

An application dashboard that gathers links to all your self-hosted services on one start page.

This page describes the Levelrail template for Heimdall (Dashboard). It deploys the services below as one Docker Compose app on your own server. Project site: [https://github.com/linuxserver/Heimdall](https://github.com/linuxserver/Heimdall).

Recommended memory: about 128 MiB.

## Services, ports and volumes

| Service | Image | Container ports | Volumes |
| - | - | - | - |
| `heimdall` | `lscr.io/linuxserver/heimdall:2.6.3` | 80 | `heimdall_config -> /config` |

## Environment variables

| Service | Variable | Value |
| - | - | - |
| `heimdall` | `PGID` | Preset in the template |
| `heimdall` | `PUID` | Preset in the template |
| `heimdall` | `TZ` | Preset in the template |

Passwords and keys marked as generated are created for you when the app is deployed and stored as secrets. Values are not shown here.

## Deploy Heimdall with Levelrail

In the dashboard, open **Apps**, choose **New app**, then **Browse templates**, and select Heimdall. Review the Compose body and deploy.

With the CLI:

```bash theme={"dark"}
levelrail-cli templates deploy heimdall --name my-heimdall
```

See the [service template catalog](/templates-and-registry) for how templates work, and [Getting started](/getting-started) if you have not installed Levelrail yet.
